Aroma Art Beverage Korebi Coffee Roasted Brewed Coffee Beans

Brewing the perfect cup of coffee is as much as an art as it is a science. Extracting a decoction of coffee is based on 3 core variables:

  • Brewing time of the extraction.
  • Temperature of the extraction.
  • The pressure under which the concoction is extracted.

The water to coffee proportion, the quality of the coffee beans and the coarseness of the grind also play an integral role in producing the ideal cup of coffee. Each variable impacts the final cup differently.

For example, for an ideal cold brew, it is mandatory to brew the coffee overnight. That is the only way for all the exuberant flavours of the coffee and the condiments to be extracted.

Maintaining an optimum temperature of 80 to 85 degree Celsius will ensure that the extraction has been maximised.

In the espresso method of brewing coffee, a constant 9 bar pressure is perfect. The slightest of change in pressure will have a distinct effect on the final cup.

Some other popular home brewing methods are:

  • French press
  • The pour over
  • Chemex
  • Siphon
  • Moka pot
